Minimum Wage Increases Take Effect in Multiple U.S. States Starting January 2024

21 U.S. states are set to implement minimum wage increases effective January 1, 2024.

  1. Alaska: $11.73 per hour
  2. Arizona: $14.35 per hour
  3. California: $16.00 per hour
  4. Connecticut: $15.69 per hour
  5. Delaware: $13.25 per hour
  6. Hawaii: $14.00 per hour
  7. Illinois: $14.00 per hour
  8. Maine: $14.15 per hour
  9. Maryland: $15.00 per hour
  10. Michigan: $10.33 per hour
  11. Minnesota: $10.85 per hour (large employers) / $8.85 per hour (small employers)
  12. Missouri: $12.30 per hour
  13. Montana: $10.30 per hour
  14. Nebraska: $12.00 per hour
  15. New Jersey: $15.13 per hour (businesses with 6 or more employees) / $13.73 per hour (businesses with fewer than 6 and seasonal employees)
  16. New York: $16.00 per hour (New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County) / $15.00 per hour (rest of the state)
  17. Ohio: $10.45 per hour
  18. Rhode Island: $14.00 per hour
  19. South Dakota: $11.20 per hour
  20. Vermont: $13.67 per hour
  21. Washington: $16.28 per hour
